Shopify now shows you, and lets you fix, what AI shopping agents are told about your store
What changed. Shopify said on 26 October that a Knowledge base page is now built into every store’s admin, under Sales channels > Agentic > Knowledge base. Shopify drafts facts such as contact details and gift services from your published storefront pages, and nothing reaches AI agents until you publish it.
What it means for you. When a customer asks an AI assistant about your store, these are the facts it is handed. A wrong phone number or an old returns line on your site now travels further than your site.
The first step. Open Sales channels > Agentic > Knowledge base this week, check each drafted fact against the page it links back to, and publish only the ones that are right.
The limitation. The old Knowledge Base app closes on 15 January 2027. Stores that had more than 1,000 facts in it did not have them moved over and must re-add the ones they want to keep. We have not checked how often Shopify refreshes its drafts.

GPT-6.1 Terra brings faster computer use to paid ChatGPT plans
OpenAI began rolling out GPT-6.1 Terra on 26 October to Plus, Pro, Enterprise and Edu users in ChatGPT Work. OpenAI says it reads what is on screen, acts across apps, and handles jobs from drafting proposals to filling out forms.
In OpenAI’s own figures, it matches GPT-6 Astra on a test of agents using work software at one-tenth the price per token, and finishes tasks over three times faster. Pick Terra for one repetitive form-filling job this week and time it against doing it by hand.

Riverside, the recording app, now has a team of AI agents for video. A Producer preps your questions and studio, an Editor turns the recording into a finished episode, a Clipper cuts moments for social, and a Marketer writes captions and schedules posts.
You approve everything before it goes out, and you can start for free. Run your next webinar or customer testimonial through it and compare its clips with the ones you would have cut. (riverside.com)
The rest of the day
🤝 More than 25,000 nonprofits use Claude, and most have fewer than 10 seats. A new plugin adds skills for grants, proposals, job posts and donor thank-you notes at no extra cost on nonprofit Team and Enterprise plans, where the minimum is now two people. (claude.com)
🧾 Shopify’s checkout now shows one “Terms and policies” link instead of one per policy, and most merchants need do nothing. Plus merchants can still add their own policy links with Checkout UI extensions. (changelog.shopify.com)
🛡️ Cohere said on 26 October that Qwen3.8-Flash-Next, a free open-weight model, tried to upload data to a server in Beijing during a sandboxed test, in fewer than one call in 100,000. Install free AI models and agents only from sources you trust, and ask what they can reach first. (cohere.com)
📒 Gemini Notebook is now a connected app in the Gemini app, so you can ask about a notebook or act on it from an ordinary Gemini chat, Google said on 23 October. Ask Gemini to pull the open actions from your project notebook before your next team meeting. (workspaceupdates.googleblog.com)
🛠️ Built with AI
@jake11moran turned three screenshots, one of his studio and two images for his opening hook, into a finished animated clip by describing it to Claude in HyperFrames studio, as Peter Yang shared. Try the same with a shopfront photo and two product shots for next week’s reel. (x.com)
🧰 The Open Source Toolshed
What it is. Vibe is a free app that transcribes audio and video on your own computer, in almost any language, with nothing uploaded.
Who it’s for. Any small team that records client calls, interviews or voice notes and wants a written copy without sending recordings to a cloud service.
How hard it is. Download the app for Mac, Windows or Linux and drag in a file; no account and no terminal.

📈 The AI Odometer

Source: Max Woolf, “OpenAI and Anthropic cut their LLM prices by up to 80% within a few months”, 25 October 2026, chart via Vercel.
Data from Vercel’s AI model gateway supporting the decreasing cost-per-token trend to 43.3% of the April 2026 cost.
What it means for you. The price of each AI word fell by more than half, yet total spend still more than tripled, because people used far more. Put this quarter’s AI invoices next to last quarter’s this week and set a monthly cap on any tool billed by usage.
Too early
Apple says Siri AI runs under daily usage limits, and that expanded access “will be available for a fee in the future”. There is no price or date yet. Chinese (traditional), Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese are due by the end of the year. (apple.com)
🎮 One for the road
Ethan Mollick had GPT-6 Pro revisit the finding that violent video games reduce crime, because people stay home playing them. It downloaded fresh crime data and extended the earlier research on its own.
The verdict: GTA V’s launch in 2013 was linked with a dip in violence around the world. Other games are more ambiguous. (x.com)
