Where it breaks
Conversations beyond a plan's allowance are billed as overage: $0.65 each on Plus, $0.50 each on Team. A high-volume support desk can end up paying more in overage than in the base subscription, so check your real monthly conversation count before picking a tier.
Browser-based builder; deploys to a website widget, WhatsApp and Messenger. No desktop install.
First entry in this reference. There is no previous check to compare it against.
Botpress is a step up from a chatbot widget: you build an agent’s logic visually — what it can look up, what it can do, when it hands off to a person — and it goes live on your website, WhatsApp or Messenger without a developer writing the integration.
The free tier is genuinely useful for finding out whether your support volume is a fit before you commit to anything. 25 conversations a month will not run a business, but it is enough to test tone, accuracy and the handoff logic against your own documentation.
Where the pricing bites
The published tiers are per-conversation caps, and going over them is not a soft warning — it is metered overage at $0.65 or $0.50 a conversation. For a business doing a few thousand support conversations a month, that overage can exceed the plan price itself. Model the real conversation volume before you buy, not the marketing number.
What it’s for and what it isn’t
Botpress is built for support and light sales conversations that follow a defined logic — answering from a knowledge base, routing to a human, collecting information before escalation. It is not a general-purpose agent platform in the sense that Relevance AI is, and it is not the deep CRM-native support layer that Ada or Sierra sell into enterprise support desks — those price per resolution and assume a much larger operation. Botpress is the right size for a small-to-mid business that wants one agent doing one job well, at a price it can actually predict once the conversation volume is known.
