Klippa
Scans receipts, invoices and identity documents with OCR and fraud checks, aimed at European businesses processing paperwork at volume; the vendor rebranded from Klippa to Doxis in March 2026, so its site and product names now show Doxis.
What you'd use it for
Turning a stack of invoices, receipts or ID documents into structured data instead of retyping them into a spreadsheet by hand.
- Pull vendor, line-item and total data out of an invoice or receipt via OCR
- Check an identity document for signs of tampering or fraud
- Route an invoice through a custom approval workflow before it reaches your books
- Send a document to the API and get structured JSON data back within seconds
- Push extracted invoice data into an ERP or accounting system via a paid integration
The verdict
Klippa earns its keep on the one product line it prices in public -- invoice processing through SpendControl -- where you pay for volume and workflow rather than for a piece of software you own. It suits a business already forwarding invoices to a bookkeeper and wanting that step automated, not a business wanting a general-purpose OCR tool, since the receipt-scanning, mobile SDK and identity-verification modules that share the Klippa name are priced by quote only. Getting the extracted data into your accounting or ERP system is a separate paid add-on on top of the monthly tier, so the sticker price is a floor, not the full cost.

What you need to start
- A Klippa (Doxis AI.dp) account, created free with a one-off €25 of API credit
- Billing details once that free credit runs out, or a sales call instead if you want the SpendControl invoice-processing tiers priced above
- A paid ERP or accounting-system integration to get extracted data into your books
Your first run After creating a free account and enabling a document type from one of the ready-made templates, sending a single invoice or receipt to the API returns structured data -- vendor, line items, totals -- typically within a few seconds of processing.
Where it breaks
Doxis (formerly Klippa) is several product lines, not one — the pricing above is for SpendControl, its invoice-processing product, specifically. DocHorizon, the underlying OCR and document-processing engine, has itself been renamed Doxis AI.dp and is priced separately, mostly by quote; the mobile scanning SDK and identity-document modules are also quote-only. Prices are in EUR, as published by the vendor; convert at your own rate rather than trusting a fixed figure here. Extra invoices beyond a tier's allowance cost from €0.28 each; ERP and accounting-system integrations are add-ons from €50/mo.
First entry in this reference. There is no previous check to compare it against.
When not to use it
Skip it if what you actually want is a price for the receipt-scanning, mobile-OCR or identity-verification modules -- those are quote-only, so there is nothing here to compare against another vendor's published number. Skip it too if you process a handful of invoices a month rather than thousands a year, since the cheapest tier is built around approvals and multiple users, not a lone OCR script.
Klippa rebranded as Doxis in March 2026, after Doxis acquired the Dutch company the previous year; the site now presents itself as Doxis, formerly Klippa, though the products underneath are unchanged. It sells a family of tools rather than one thing: SpendControl, its invoice and expense-management product, is the one with published self-serve pricing; DocHorizon, the OCR and document-processing engine behind it, has itself been renamed Doxis AI.dp and is priced separately, mostly by quote; and a third line handles identity-document verification and fraud checks.
SpendControl is what the pricing table above reflects. Invoices arrive by email forward, camera capture or upload, get read and coded automatically, and flow into your accounting or ERP system through a paid integration add-on.
It processes what you hand it, not what arrives
Doxis processes what arrives — an invoice forwarded to it, a document scanned on a phone — rather than running a continuous unattended sweep of your systems. That is a step up from a plain OCR tool, since it is connected into your accounting stack once configured, but it still acts on things you or a colleague hand it.
The honest limitation
Most of Doxis’s other modules — the mobile scanning SDK, the price-tag OCR, and Doxis AI.dp’s broader document-processing tiers beyond invoices — are quote-only, with no published figure at all. If your interest is specifically the receipt-scanning or identity-verification side rather than SpendControl’s invoice processing, expect a sales conversation rather than a self-serve signup, and treat the table above as a floor rather than a ceiling on what Doxis can cost.
