What you'd use it for

Generating or reformatting a deck without leaving the PowerPoint or Google Slides file your team already reviews and stores.

  • Generate a full slide deck from a written prompt, inside Google Slides or PowerPoint
  • Turn an uploaded PDF, Word document or existing PowerPoint file into a formatted presentation
  • Reformat existing slides into a different visual layout without rewriting the content
  • Generate AI images or pull web search images for slides
  • Keep decks on a team's shared brand template and asset library on the Team plan

The verdict

Plus AI earns its keep by staying out of the way: the deck it generates lands directly in the Google Slides or PowerPoint file your team already reviews and stores, with no export step. The generative quality is a notch below a purpose-built tool like Gamma, and there is no way to try it without handing over a credit card and picking a plan first. It suits a team with an established brand template and an approval workflow already built around Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, not someone who wants to poke at AI slide generation with no commitment.

What it costs

What you need to start

  • A Google or Microsoft account
  • A credit card to activate the trial, even though the trial itself is free for 7 days
  • A paid plan selected before you can generate anything

Under five minutes to install the add-on and sign in, but you cannot generate a slide until a paid plan is selected and a card is on file.

Your first run You describe the presentation in a prompt or upload a file, review the outline Plus AI proposes, then approve it to get a full deck sitting in your actual Google Slides or PowerPoint file; installing the add-on and signing in takes under five minutes if you already have a Google or Microsoft account.

Where it breaks

Installs as an add-on inside Google Slides and PowerPoint rather than running as its own app.

When not to use it

Not for anyone who wants to try AI slide generation before paying, or who's happy building in a dedicated app and exporting at the end -- Gamma or Beautiful AI give more generative polish for that.

Plus AI’s whole argument is a refusal to be a new app. Most AI deck tools want you to build in their editor and export at the end, which means losing your existing template, your team’s shared brand assets, and whatever workflow already routes decks through Google Drive or SharePoint approval. Plus AI installs as an add-on and generates or edits slides inside the file you already have open.

That choice trades some of the generative polish a standalone tool like Gamma can offer for something more practical: the output is already in the format your team reviews, comments on and stores, with no export step and no new place for the “real” version of the deck to live.

What actually separates the tiers

Basic and Pro both work inside your existing brand template; the difference is generation volume and editing depth, with Pro marked as the vendor’s most popular choice. Team’s real value is shared brand assets across multiple people building decks — useful once more than one person on your team is generating slides and you want visual consistency between them.

Where it fits next to the alternatives

Against Pitch, the tradeoff is staying-versus-switching: Pitch is a better collaborative editor if you’re willing to move off PowerPoint or Slides entirely, while Plus AI is the right call if your team’s approval and storage workflow is already built around Google or Microsoft’s native apps.
