Rossum
Reads incoming supplier documents like invoices end to end, learning each vendor's layout instead of needing a template built for it.

Where it breaks
There is no self-serve monthly plan — the published $18,000/year Starter figure is the entry point, and everything past it is a negotiated quote.
Browser-based, sold as an annual contract rather than a monthly subscription.
First entry in this reference. There is no previous check to compare it against.
Rossum’s category — reading unstructured supplier documents so a finance team doesn’t have to key them in — is full of tools that promise “no templates needed” and then quietly need one anyway the first time a new vendor’s invoice layout shows up. Rossum’s actual claim is narrower and more useful: its extraction model learns from corrections over time, so the second invoice from a new vendor is read better than the first, without anyone opening a template editor.
Once it’s connected to an inbox or an API feed, documents get processed as they arrive — nobody has to open the tool and trigger a run. A person only shows up at the exception screen, when the system isn’t confident enough to act alone.
The price is the first real signal
At $18,000 a year for the entry tier, Rossum is not a small-business tool in the way most of this directory is — it’s priced for a finance team processing enough invoice volume that the labour savings clearly exceed a five-figure annual contract. Unlimited seats at that tier is a meaningful detail: the cost is set by the document volume and the deal, not by how many people in finance need a login.
What you’re actually buying above Starter
Business and Enterprise add the parts that matter once Rossum has to fit into an existing finance stack rather than stand alone — ERP integrations, master data matching against your own vendor records, and the security controls (SSO, sandboxing) that a compliance team will ask about before signing.
