Project management tools have mostly bolted AI onto an existing task list. Taskade’s pitch runs the other direction: agents are first-class members of the workspace, assignable to a task the same way a teammate would be, sitting inside the same project board rather than as a chat sidebar bolted onto it.

The credit system is the thing to actually budget against, and it is worth reading carefully — Free hands out 6,000 credits once, not monthly, while every paid tier renews the allowance every month. That is a meaningfully different shape from most SaaS free tiers, and it means the free plan runs out rather than resets, which is easy to miss on a first read of the pricing page.

What the tiers are really gating

  • Credits scale roughly 3x at each step — 50K on Pro, 150K on Business, 400K on Max — which tracks how much actual agent work (not just human task management) you can run in a month.
  • “Autonomous agents” arrive at Max, not Pro or Business — that is the tier where agents can run multi-step work without a human confirming each step, versus the assisted mode below it.
  • SSO and white-labeling sit at Business, which is the practical floor for any team that needs to hand this to clients or pass a basic security review.

Where it fits

Taskade is closer to Make than to a plain to-do app in what it is actually offering — a place where agentic work runs, not just gets listed — but it keeps the human-facing project management layer that a pure automation platform doesn’t have. Pick it when the team wants one workspace for both “what are we doing” and “what is the AI doing for us,” rather than running project management and automation as two separate tools.
