🚀 Claude Code cloud sessions leave preview

Claude Code cloud sessions are officially out of research preview, with a one-time credit for Pro and Max subscribers.

Two-minute read. Claude Code’s cloud sessions just left preview, credit attached.

CREDIT

Claude Code cloud sessions leave preview, with a credit attached

What changed. Anthropic’s Claude Code team announced that cloud sessions have moved out of research preview and are now generally available, and said that Pro and Max subscribers can claim a one-time credit, $100 for Pro and $250 for Max, either through a link or by running /claim-credit in the CLI, and that the credit applies automatically once claimed and sits outside normal usage limits.

What it means at your size. If anyone on your team already pays for a Claude Pro or Max seat to get coding or writing help, cloud sessions mean that work can keep running and finish on its own without a laptop staying open the whole time, and the new credit covers a real chunk of that usage before any of it lands on your card.

The first step. This week, check which Claude plan your team is actually on, Pro or Max, and look at what you already ask it to do, so you know in five minutes whether claiming the credit is worth doing before you forget about it.

The limitation. The briefing does not say how long this credit lasts, what a cloud session costs once the credit runs out, or whether the offer extends to accounts on team or business billing, so treat it as a trial rather than a permanent price cut.

PRICING

A free unlimited option is testing the market for Opus 5.5

Matt Shumer says the startup Spawn is offering unlimited use of Opus 5.5, an offer he frames as something he “shouldn’t be telling you,” and Spawn itself has not confirmed the terms anywhere in the briefing. If a free, uncapped tier for a frontier model like Opus 5.5 turns out to be real, it would matter for the same reason any all-you-can-eat pricing does: it changes how much a small team can run against a model without watching a metered bill, at least for as long as the offer lasts. For now this is worth noting rather than moving any work onto, since nothing in the briefing describes usage caps, business terms, or an end date for the offer.

Too early

Dax Raad says OpenCode’s server protocol already sits underneath third-party tools like OpenChamber and that a fuller write-up of OpenCode 2.0 is coming, but nothing published yet spells out what changes for a business that isn’t building its own tools on top of it. (x.com)
