🔍 Hermes Agent's search is now free on every plan

Hermes Agent's web search just became free on every plan, no upgrade needed.

Three-minute read. Today’s lead: Hermes Agent’s web search is now free on every plan.

ACCESS

Hermes Agent’s web search is now free on every plan

What changed. Nous Research says the Perplexity-built Fast Search feature inside Hermes Agent is now live and free across every tier of the Nous Portal, not just the paid ones.

What it means at your size. If anyone on your team already uses Hermes Agent for lookups or quick research, that upgrade you were putting off is no longer the thing standing between you and faster answers.

The first step. This week, run one real research task you’d normally hand to a person or a paid tool through Hermes Agent’s search, and time how close it gets.

The limitation. Nous Research is the only source for both the announcement and the “fast” claim; nothing here has been checked against a plain web search, and no side-by-side numbers are given.

Meta opens Muse to outside developers building connectors

Greg Isenberg’s rundown of Meta’s news frames it plainly: Meta is now letting outside developers submit “connectors” that plug into its Muse AI agent, instead of building every integration itself, and he calls it an app-store moment for AI agents. For a business owner, the news itself matters less than what it signals: a review process for outside developers usually means a wave of small integrations is coming, so it’s worth watching for a connector into a tool you already run before there is a storefront to browse. The framing is the presenter’s own, not Meta’s, and there’s no timeline or approval bar in what Meta has said publicly yet.

Just shipped

Google’s Gemini 3.8 Live now puts a real-time visual avatar in front of its voice conversations, announced today across both the DeepMind and Gemini product blogs and live now inside the assistant. If you’ve been considering a face for a support or sales bot, this is the first version of Gemini that offers one without you building it yourself. (deepmind.google)

The rest of the day

💸 AWS says its new SageMaker HyperPod Inference Gateway cuts first-token latency by up to 82% for models running on it, a sign the infrastructure under your AI subscriptions is getting cheaper to run, even if your invoice hasn’t caught up yet. (aws.amazon.com)

📉 Gary Marcus is flagging another report questioning whether AI spending is actually paying off, worth a skim before your next renewal conversation. (x.com)

🧮 Nate Herk has run Opus 5.5 at every effort level, from Low up to Ultracode, and logged what each tier costs in tokens and how differently it checks its own work. If you pay per token rather than per seat, the useful question his test raises is whether you have been buying the top tier for work the cheap one finishes. One person’s benchmark, not a published price comparison. (youtube.com)

🖥️ Claude Code shipped v2.1.282 overnight, a housekeeping release of terminal and display fixes plus clearer notices about when telemetry is being collected. Worth knowing if anyone on your team runs it on company work and nobody has yet asked who can see that usage. (github.com)

🧭 Matthew Berman walks through eight things the Jev browser agent will do unattended, the category where an assistant stops answering questions and starts clicking through pages for you. Treat it as a look at where browser agents are, not a recommendation: it is a demo reel, and the failure cases are not in it. (youtube.com)

Too early

Shopify’s internal method for running Claude Code with checkpoints and gates that stop half-finished work from shipping is being pieced together by outside developers from a video, not a released playbook, so it’s a pattern to watch for when your own developer or agency adopts it, not one to ask for yet. 🥥 One for the road

A Reddit thread asking, simply, how a coconut ended up somewhere it had no business being, is climbing r/popular today. No AI, no lesson, just a good one for your coffee break. (reddit.com)
