Freshdesk
A help desk with a shared inbox and ticketing, where Freddy AI answers common customer questions on its own and summarises long threads for the human agent who takes over.
What it costs
| Tier | Price | For | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | $19/agent/month, billed annually | A small support team wanting AI-assisted ticketing without a big setup. | 500 Freddy AI Agent sessions, ticketing and shared inbox, customer portal, knowledge base, basic reporting. |
| Pro | $55/agent/month, billed annually, marked Freshdesk's most popular tier | A team supporting customers in multiple languages with custom SLAs. | Everything in Growth, plus a multilingual help desk, custom dashboards, intelligent routing, multiple SLA policies, 5,000 external collaborator seats. |
| Enterprise | $89/agent/month, billed annually | Larger teams needing skill-based routing and stricter access controls. | Everything in Pro, plus Freddy AI Insights, skill-based routing, a sandbox environment, audit logs, IP whitelisting. |

Where it breaks
All three tiers include only 500 free Freddy AI Agent sessions a month; going over costs $49 per additional 100 sessions, and a busy support inbox can burn through 500 sessions faster than the per-agent price suggests. A separate Freddy AI Copilot add-on, at $29/agent/month, is required for AI assistance inside the agent's own workflow rather than customer-facing auto-resolution.
Browser-based, with mobile apps for agents on the move. Part of the wider Freshworks suite, which also sells a separate CRM and IT service management product under the same account.
First entry in this reference. There is no previous check to compare it against.
Freddy AI Agent is doing the part of support that used to require either a large team or an unhappy customer waiting overnight: answering the questions that have already been answered a hundred times, from the knowledge base you’ve already written, without a human touching the ticket. The pitch is not that it replaces support staff — it’s that the tickets reaching a human are the ones that actually need one.
Where the money goes as you move up
- Growth buys the core loop: AI resolves what it can, a human handles the rest, from one shared inbox.
- Pro is about scale across languages and SLA complexity — the point where “we promised a 4-hour response” needs to be enforced by the tool, not remembered by a person.
- Enterprise adds the governance a larger org needs — sandboxing changes before they hit production, auditing who touched what.
The session cap is the thing to model before buying
Every tier ships with the same 500-session allowance for the AI agent, regardless of price. A team fielding a genuinely high ticket volume should estimate how many of those tickets are AI-resolvable and price the overage separately — the per-agent price on the tier you land on is not the whole story.
Against Zoho Desk and Help Scout
Freshdesk sits in the middle of this comparison on both price and depth — more automated than Help Scout’s more personal, inbox-first approach, and generally considered easier to configure than Zoho Desk for a team that isn’t already living inside the Zoho ecosystem.
