What you'd use it for

Turning a script or product description into a finished social ad or promo clip without filming anything or hiring an editor.

  • Turn a written script or short prompt into an edited video with stock footage, motion graphics and background music chosen automatically
  • Generate an AI voiceover with auto-synced captions across dozens of languages
  • Route a single project through 200+ underlying AI models via the Agents and Models workflow
  • Collaborate with a team on a shared multiplayer timeline editor
  • Assemble a short social cutdown, under a minute, in a handful of minutes rather than hours

The verdict

InVideo is strongest as an automated stock-footage editor — describe what you want and its agent writes the script, sources the footage, adds a voiceover and captions, and hands back a finished cutdown in minutes. Its ceiling is the stock library it draws from rather than the underlying model, so a genuinely original visual concept still needs a generative tool. The credit system and steep annual discount reward a team producing on a steady weekly cadence; an occasional user pays more per video than the sticker price suggests.

A working free account in a couple of minutes; a first short cutdown from a prompt in three to five minutes, a longer edit nearer twenty.

Your first run Type a script, concept or scene into the prompt box in Agent mode and it writes, storyboards and edits the shots for you; a short social cutdown comes back in three to five minutes, a longer explainer nearer ten to twenty.

Where it breaks

Pricing shown is the annual-billing rate; InVideo also sells month-to-month at a noticeably higher per-month price, so the advertised tier prices assume you're comfortable committing for a year.

When not to use it

Not for anyone who needs a consistent on-camera presenter or brand face, which is a job for an avatar tool instead. Also a weak fit for a team making only a video or two a year, since the credit reset and annual-billing discount are built around regular weekly use.

InVideo is built for the version of “make a video” that most small marketing teams actually need: a promo clip, a product announcement, a social ad, assembled from stock footage and motion graphics with a script or a short prompt rather than raw camera footage. You’re not filming anything — the AI is choosing shots, pacing and music to match what you describe.

The credit system governs how much you can actually produce each month, and it resets rather than rolling over, so a quiet month doesn’t bank capacity for a busy one. Starter’s 400 credits are enough to test the workflow on a handful of short videos; teams producing content on any kind of regular cadence outgrow it quickly and move to Plus.

What you’re not getting

This isn’t a tool for a talking presenter delivering a script — for that, Synthesia is the better fit, with an AI avatar actually speaking to camera. InVideo is closer to a highly automated stock-footage editor: strong for cutdowns, ads and explainers built from B-roll and motion graphics, weaker for anything that needs a consistent character or face on screen.

Against the alternatives

Against Google Flow, the two aim at different production styles: Flow generates its own footage from prompts, scene by scene, producing something no stock library holds; InVideo assembles from an existing stock library plus AI editing, which is faster and cheaper per video but limited to what the library actually contains. For a routine weekly social cutdown, InVideo’s speed usually wins; for a genuinely original visual concept, Flow’s generation is the only route to it.

The annual-billing discount is steep enough — up to a third off at the Max tier — that it’s worth confirming you’ll actually use the tool for a year before committing, rather than defaulting to annual because the monthly number looks worse by comparison.
