Where it breaks
Every tier meters by 'chats,' and going over the included volume costs $0.05 per extra chat ($0.10 for an AI chat) rather than a hard cutoff — a bot that suddenly gets popular becomes a variable bill, not a wall.

Landbot is what you reach for when a form on your website is not converting and you suspect the problem is the form, not the offer. Instead of ten fields at once, a visitor answers one question at a time, in a chat window, and the bot decides what to ask next based on what they just said.
The building blocks are visual: drag a message block, a question block, a condition, a webhook. You do not need to write logic to build branching — a “yes” goes one way, a “no” goes another, and a WhatsApp number or an email address gets validated on the spot rather than discovered as junk three days later.
Where the AI sits
The AI chats in each tier’s limit are Landbot’s own generative layer bolted onto the flow builder — the bot can improvise an answer inside the guardrails you’ve set, rather than being limited to the exact branches you drew. It is a genuine step up from a rigid decision tree, but it is still scoped to what you feed it; this is not an open-ended assistant.
Who this replaces
If the job is “answer the same five questions all day and hand off anything harder,” Landbot is cheaper and faster to set up than routing that traffic to a human inbox first. Against Chatfuel, the split is channel: Chatfuel leans harder into WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger DMs, while Landbot’s strongest surface is your own website, with WhatsApp as an add-on rather than the default.
The chat-based metering is the thing to watch. A campaign that suddenly drives traffic can push a Starter plan into overage charges within days, and there is no warning built into the flow itself — only the monthly invoice.
