Where it breaks
The base subscription and per-run usage fees are separate line items, so the real monthly cost depends on both your plan and how many of your documents fall into the more expensive 'complex AI' bracket — budget from actual document volume, not the headline $100.
API-first — usage is metered per document-processing "run," billed at three rates depending on complexity ($0.02 simple, $0.10 standard AI, $0.30 complex AI) on top of the plan.

Nanonets solves the document-processing problem that used to require either manual data entry or a template built for every single vendor’s invoice layout: point it at a PDF or scanned form, and it extracts the fields without you telling it in advance what the document looks like.
That “no template” claim is the real differentiator against older OCR tools, which broke the moment a vendor changed their invoice layout. Nanonets is trained to generalise across formats, which matters for any business receiving documents from dozens of different suppliers rather than one standardised source.
Reading the cost structure
The plan price and the per-document cost are separate. Starter includes 100 credits for $100/month, but each extraction run also costs $0.02 to $0.30 depending on how much AI work it takes — simple field extraction is cheap, generative reasoning over a messy document is not. Estimate cost from your actual document mix, not the headline number.
Where this fits
Against a general document tool like Acrobat AI Assistant or SmallPDF, Nanonets is built for volume and integration — piping extracted data straight into an ERP or database — rather than a human reading one document at a time. If you’re processing dozens of invoices a day rather than one, this is the right tool.
