WeWeb
A visual front-end builder that connects to any backend — Supabase, Xano, a REST API — where AI can generate pages and logic, aimed at teams who want a real coded app without hand-writing the frontend.
What you'd use it for
Building the visual front end of a real app on top of a backend you already have or choose, without hand-coding the interface.
- Design pages visually and bind them directly to live data from Supabase, Xano, Airtable or a REST API
- Build and edit a backend's own data tables and APIs without leaving the WeWeb editor, using its built-in backend
- Generate pages and workflow logic from a plain-language prompt with the WeWeb AI assistant
- Export the finished app as real Vue.js code and self-host it instead of staying on WeWeb's own hosting
- Import custom-coded components for anything the visual editor can't reach
The verdict
WeWeb earns its place for people who already have, or want to choose, their own backend and just need a serious visual way to build the interface on top of it — the code export on the Essential tier is a real escape hatch, not a marketing line. It gets you to a working prototype faster than hand-coding a front end, but 'weeks not months' is still weeks — this is not a same-afternoon tool. WeWeb apps are client-rendered single-page apps, and WeWeb's own 2026 roadmap post says server-side rendering is deliberately not being built this year (they call it a long-term idea, not a near-term one), so a public site chasing organic search needs a prerendering workaround on top — internal tools, dashboards and logged-in products aren't affected by any of this.
What it costs
| Tier | Price | For | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0/month | Personal projects and evaluating the editor. | The visual drag-and-drop editor, API and data integration, a 14-day trial of the WeWeb MCP server, deploy to WeWeb cloud up to 1,000 sessions. |
| Essential | $20/month | A solo developer who wants to own the code. | Everything in Free plus exporting and self-hosting the code, GitHub sync, unlimited WeWeb cloud sessions, daily editor backups. |
| Pro | Per-developer pricing; the exact monthly figure did not render correctly on the vendor's own pricing page at the time of this check. Separate AI token add-on packages run $50–$300/month for 25–150 million tokens. | Teams that need to add seats and collaborate. | Everything in Essential plus additional seats, hourly auto-backups, unlimited MCP server access, protection from AI edits on locked resources. |
| Enterprise | Custom pricing | Organisations with hosting and compliance requirements beyond the standard cloud tiers. | Custom deployment and support arrangements. |

What you need to start
- A free WeWeb account, no credit card needed for the Free plan
- A backend or database if you want data beyond WeWeb's own built-in tables — Supabase, Xano, Airtable or a REST API
- The Essential plan ($20/month) to export the code and self-host it
Minutes to a free account and a first page in the editor; weeks, not months, to a working app wired to a real backend, per WeWeb's own materials.
Your first run The WeWeb 101 guides walk you through adding your first element to a page inside the free editor within minutes; per the vendor's own framing, a working prototype wired to a real backend is realistically weeks away, not a same-day result.
Where it breaks
The Pro tier's headline price displayed as a rendering error ('$NaN/month') on WeWeb's own live pricing page rather than a real number — this looks like a page bug rather than a genuinely unpublished price, but it means the actual Pro seat cost could not be confirmed here.
Separate from the editor seat price, WeWeb also sells its own cloud hosting on a tiered ladder — Free, Launch+ ($13/month), Grow+ ($20/month), Scale+ ($66/month) and Enterprise ($208/month) — since an exported app still needs somewhere to run.

When not to use it
Not for anyone who wants one tool to own the whole stack — pair it with a backend decision you still have to make yourself, unlike an all-in-one builder such as Bubble. Not for a public site that needs to rank in search without extra work, since WeWeb ships client-rendered single-page apps and its own 2026 roadmap post confirms server-side rendering isn't being built this year — WeWeb frames it as a long-term possibility, and third-party workarounds like Prerender.io exist for now. And not for someone who wants a working app this afternoon — the realistic timeline the vendor itself describes is weeks.
WeWeb is built for a specific split in the no-code world: it is the front end only, deliberately paired with a backend you choose yourself — Supabase, Xano, Postgres, or a plain REST API. That is a different bet from an all-in-one builder like Bubble, which owns both ends of the stack. If you already have or want a real backend and just need a visual way to build the interface on top of it, WeWeb fits that gap; if you want one tool to own everything, it will feel like an extra piece to manage.
The other differentiator is that WeWeb apps export to real code — HTML, CSS and JavaScript you can self-host — rather than staying locked inside a proprietary runtime. The Essential tier specifically sells that export-and-self-host capability, which matters if “what happens if I ever want to leave” is part of your evaluation.
A pricing page worth double-checking
Free and Essential prices are clean and confirmed. The Pro tier’s own pricing page returned a broken number rather than a real figure at the time of this check, which looks like a temporary bug rather than deliberately hidden pricing — worth reloading the live page before you commit, since the number should be there.
Add AI token packages and separate cloud-hosting tiers into your budget: WeWeb’s editor seat and where the finished app runs are billed independently.
