Zoho Books
Accounting software where Zia, Zoho's AI, categorises transactions, chases overdue invoices and flags anomalies, priced low per organisation rather than per user.

Where it breaks
Browser-based, part of the wider Zoho One suite; mobile apps for iOS and Android. Prices shown are for the US region (zoho.com/us/); the plain zoho.com/books/pricing/ URL geo-resolves to a different region's figures.
Recovered full tier pricing (Standard through Ultimate) from the US-region pricing page; the figures are set in an inline pricing-amount-container block a plain fetch can read, not client-side JS as first assessed.
Zoho Books occupies an unusual spot: full double-entry accounting, bank feeds, recurring invoices and now an AI layer (Zia) that auto-categorises transactions and flags anything that looks off — sold at a price point that has made it a standard choice for cost-conscious small businesses worldwide, especially outside the US where QuickBooks is less dominant.
The tier ladder scales in two directions at once: more invoices and users as you move up, and more accounting sophistication (multi-currency, fixed assets, revenue recognition, custom analytics) layered on at the higher tiers. A sole trader can live on Free indefinitely provided revenue stays under $50,000 USD a year — genuinely indefinitely, not a trial with a countdown.
Where Zia fits
The AI does the unglamorous work: reading a bank feed line and guessing the right expense category, drafting a payment reminder before an invoice goes overdue, catching a transaction that does not match the usual pattern. None of it replaces a bookkeeper’s judgment on anything unusual, but it removes the repetitive categorisation that eats an afternoon every month.
Where it sits
Zoho Books still prices near the bottom of the accounting-software market: Standard starts at $20/org/month (or $15/org/month paid annually), scaling up to $275/org/month for Ultimate’s custom analytics. Note the region sensitivity — the generic pricing page geo-resolves to a different figure depending on where the request comes from, so the numbers above are pinned to the US-region page. Compare directly against Sage or Rippling for your actual region before committing.
