What you'd use it for

Getting the apps you already run to talk to each other — form to CRM, order to spreadsheet — without paying Zapier prices for it.

  • Connect a trigger app to an action app across Albato's 1,000+ integrations, entirely in the browser with nothing installed
  • Chain unlimited steps in a single automation on Pro, where the free plan stops you at two
  • Re-run data through an automation after a failure using auto replay, rather than rebuilding the run by hand (Pro and above)
  • Add an app Albato does not already list yourself with the Apps Integrator, which is included on every tier including the free one
  • Offer integrations inside your own SaaS product under your own branding through Albato Embedded, priced separately from the plans above

The verdict

The cheaper stand-in for Make and Zapier, and honest enough to be sold as exactly that. The unit is the thing to get right before budgeting: Albato counts a transaction for every action step that runs after the trigger, so a four-action automation firing 250 times a month burns 1,000 transactions, not 250. Plan and volume are bought separately, which is unusual and in your favour — $15/mo billed annually is Pro with the smallest 1K package, and the same Pro plan runs all the way to 2M transactions at a higher figure. Worth a look if a few workflows are quietly running up a Zapier bill; less so if coverage of one specific app is what decides it.

What it costs

Tier Price For Includes
Free $0/mo Individuals getting started with automation. 100 transactions/mo, 5 active automations, 2 steps per automation, 7-day log storage.
Pro $22/mo ($15/mo billed annually) Individuals and small teams running real workflows. Unlimited automations and steps, 30-day log storage, data migration and auto-replay. The price shown is Pro with the smallest transaction package, 1,000 a month; the same Pro plan is sold with packages running up to 2 million, at correspondingly higher prices.
Teams $93/mo ($65/mo billed annually) Agencies and collaboration-focused teams. From 5,000 transactions/mo, 5 team seats, roles and shared workspaces, priority support.
Custom Contact us Enterprises with advanced needs. Volume terms beyond the Teams tier.

What you need to start

  • An Albato account; the platform is browser-only, with nothing to install
  • Login access to each app you want to connect, so you can authorise it
  • An API key taken from the app's own settings, for the integrations that do not use a sign-in flow
  • A paid plan for Albato AI, AI Agents, auto replay, data migration, or more than two steps in one automation

Your first run Albato's quick start is three steps in the browser — choose the trigger app, choose the action app, fire the trigger once to test it. The first real result is a record turning up in the destination app, a form entry landing as a spreadsheet row, from a live test run rather than a preview.

Where it breaks

The Teams tier was marked "Coming soon" on the pricing page at last check -- listed and priced, but not yet purchasable. Extra transactions beyond a package cost $0.0330 each, and only on Pro; the comparison table shows a dash for Free and Teams and "contact us" for Custom. Two places where Albato contradicts itself on its own site, both worth checking before you budget. The pricing page's FAQ says triggers do not consume transactions, while the help centre still documents an older operations model in which an API-polling trigger costs one operation per poll whether or not it finds anything -- 96 a day at fifteen-minute polling, which would change a small plan's sizing completely. And the Pro card offers a 7-day trial while the FAQ on the same page offers 14 days.

First entry in this reference. There is no previous check to compare it against.

When not to use it

Not for teams that need to share an account yet — the Teams plan was still marked Coming soon at this check, so multi-seat collaboration is priced but not purchasable. And if you arrived for the embedded white-label product rather than your own internal workflows, none of the prices above apply to you: Albato Embedded is quoted separately, starts at $3,000/mo, and the vendor puts go-live at 30 to 45 days.

Albato covers the same ground as Make or Zapier — connect apps, build a trigger-and-action workflow, let it run — with one genuine differentiator: an embedded option that lets a SaaS company offer integrations inside its own product, powered by Albato behind the scenes, rather than sending customers off to a separate automation tool.

For a business simply automating its own internal workflows, that embedding feature is irrelevant and the comparison is straightforwardly against Make and Zapier on price and connector coverage — Albato has built a reputation as the cheaper option with particular traction outside North America.

What the tiers actually buy

Transactions, not tasks, are the metered unit here, and the free tier’s 100 a month is genuinely usable for testing a single simple workflow but not for running a real business process.

The part that catches people out is that the plan and the volume are bought separately. Albato’s own FAQ puts it plainly: your plan defines the work format and the collaboration features, not the number of transactions. So Pro is not “the 1,000-transaction plan” — Pro at $15 to $22 a month is Pro with the smallest package attached, and the same Pro plan is sold with packages running to two million transactions at higher prices. That is unusual and it is in your favour: you can buy more volume without buying features you do not need, which is the opposite of how Make and Zapier ladder their tiers.

It also means the comparison against Make is not a single number. Match the transaction volume you actually expect, then compare — Albato generally undercuts on price, while Make has broader third-party connector coverage in most comparisons.

Count the unit correctly before any of that. Albato charges a transaction for every action step that runs after the trigger, so a four-action automation firing 250 times a month spends 1,000 transactions, not 250.

One thing to check before relying on this

The Teams tier — the one built for agencies and multi-person collaboration — was listed as “Coming soon” at the time of this check, meaning the price is published but the tier could not yet be purchased. Anyone needing multi-seat collaboration specifically should confirm it has actually shipped before budgeting around it.
