Folk
A lightweight CRM that pulls contacts straight out of your inbox and LinkedIn instead of making you type them in, with AI enriching each one with extra context automatically.
What you'd use it for
Turning the contacts already scattered across your inbox and LinkedIn connections into a working CRM without a manual data-entry project.
- Pull a contact off a LinkedIn profile with one click and have AI enrich it with job title, company and socials
- Bulk-import a LinkedIn list or a CSV and let enrichment run across the whole batch automatically
- Sync Gmail or Google Calendar so email threads and meetings attach to the right contact on their own
- Run collaborative, visual pipelines with shared notes, reminders and interaction history across a team
- Send personalised bulk email campaigns and multi-step sequences from inside the CRM
The verdict
Folk earns its keep at the exact moment most CRMs fail: getting contacts in without typing them by hand. The LinkedIn and Gmail capture plus automatic enrichment genuinely turns a messy network into a structured list fast, which is why agencies and solo consultants gravitate to it. It is thin on workflow automation, marketing tooling and reporting next to a heavier CRM, and enrichment runs on metered credits rather than unlimited use. It suits a small team or consultant whose real problem is a scattered contact list, not one that needs deep marketing automation.

What you need to start
- A Chrome browser, since the folkX extension is Chrome-only
- A LinkedIn and/or Gmail account to import contacts from
- A paid subscription once the 14-day trial ends, as there is no permanent free plan
Under ten minutes to a working account with the extension installed; about twenty minutes to a first enriched contact list from an import.
Your first run Installing the folkX Chrome extension and signing in takes under two minutes, and opening a LinkedIn profile and clicking it pulls in an enriched contact straight away; a first CSV or LinkedIn-list import with enrichment applied across the batch is usually usable inside about twenty minutes.
Where it breaks
Browser-based, with a Chrome extension (folkX) that pulls contacts directly from LinkedIn profiles and Gmail.
Corrected the pricing table: it previously listed a permanent Free tier at $0, which does not exist on the live pricing page. Replaced it with the actual 14-day trial terms. Standard, Premium and Enterprise prices were checked against the live page and are unchanged.
When not to use it
A team that needs heavy marketing automation, multi-channel campaign orchestration or deep custom reporting should look elsewhere — that is HubSpot's job, not Folk's. It also does not suit anyone hoping to run it for free indefinitely, since there is no permanent free plan, only a 14-day trial.
Folk is built for a specific complaint about traditional CRMs: entering a new contact by hand, field by field, is the single biggest reason a CRM goes stale. Folk’s browser extension pulls a contact directly from a LinkedIn profile or an email thread with one click, and AI enriches it afterward — company, role, sometimes a note on context — so the record is more than a name and an email address from the start.
That import-first design is why agencies and consultancies gravitate to it: the actual contact list is usually scattered across someone’s inbox and LinkedIn connections already, and Folk’s job is turning that mess into something structured without a manual data-entry project first.
What actually separates the tiers
Standard covers real pipeline work — stages, email campaigns, the integrations that connect Folk to the rest of your stack. Premium’s custom objects matter once your data model gets more specific than “contact and company” — tracking a third entity type like projects or referral sources, for instance. Enterprise is mostly about volume and negotiated limits rather than new capability.
Where it fits next to the alternatives
Against a heavier CRM like HubSpot, Folk is deliberately lighter — less workflow automation, less marketing tooling, but far faster to actually populate with real contacts and far cheaper to run for a small team or solo consultant.
