Where it breaks

Browser-based. Acquired by Dropbox in 2024, which now owns and funds it.

First entry in this reference. There is no previous check to compare it against.

Reclaim.ai starts from a specific, well-argued premise: focus time and personal habits lose every negotiation with a meeting request unless something actively defends them, and doing that defending by hand — manually blocking calendar time and then manually moving the block when a real meeting needs the slot — is exactly the kind of small, constant friction software should absorb.

So it does. Once you tell it what to protect — deep work blocks, a lunch habit, buffer time between calls — it keeps rearranging those protected blocks around whatever meetings actually land on your calendar, without you reopening the tool each time something shifts. That continuous, unattended rearranging puts it alongside Motion, the closest comparison in this directory.

Reclaim versus Motion

The split between them is mostly one of emphasis. Reclaim’s product vocabulary is built around habits, focus time and buffers — defending time that already exists on your calendar. Motion leans further into full task and project scheduling — deciding where new work goes, not just protecting existing blocks. Either can do a version of the other’s job; which one to start with depends on whether your actual problem is “my calendar gets steamrolled” (Reclaim) or “I have a task list nobody’s scheduling” (Motion).

What Dropbox ownership changes

Being owned by Dropbox since 2024 means Reclaim has stable backing rather than startup runway risk, and its free Lite tier — a genuinely usable starting point at 5 AI agents and one calendar sync — is a stronger long-term bet than most free tiers in this category.
