Rows
A spreadsheet with live connectors to your other apps and an AI analyst built into the formula bar, so a formula can just be a question.
What you'd use it for
Turning a spreadsheet you already know how to use into one that pulls live numbers from your other tools and writes the formula for you when you ask in plain English.
- Type a plain-language question into a cell and get a working formula built against your live data, no VLOOKUP syntax required
- Pull live, refreshing numbers into cells from 50+ connected sources including CRMs, ad platforms and data warehouses
- Extract data straight out of PDFs and other documents into spreadsheet rows
- Import a data table from almost any website in one click with the free RowsX Chrome extension
- Merge and analyse data pulled from several connected sources inside one live sheet
The verdict
Rows earns its keep if your team already lives in a spreadsheet and just wants the CRM exports and VLOOKUPs handled by a formula bar that understands plain English. The catch is the AI Task ceiling — five a month on Free is enough to try it, not to run on, and the minute-level refresh that makes the live connectors worth having sits behind the $79-plus-per-seat Pro tier. It suits an operator who wants a smarter spreadsheet, not a team ready to restructure its data into a database.
What it costs
| Tier | Price | For | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | One person trying live data connections before paying. | 5 AI Tasks/month, unlimited spreadsheets, manual data import, 10 integration accounts, 3 guest members. |
| Plus | $8/user/month, billed monthly ($6/user/month billed annually) | One person or a small team running data automation regularly. | 200 AI Tasks/month, daily data-table automation, 10 integration accounts, 10 guests, 30-day version history. |
| Pro | $79/month + $8/user/month (monthly), or $59/month + $6/user/month (annual) | A team that needs minute-level data freshness and higher limits. | 1,000 AI Tasks/month, minute-level automation, 100 integration accounts, 200 guests, 2-year version history. |
| Enterprise | Custom pricing | An organisation needing custom AI models and unlimited scale. | Unlimited AI Tasks, custom AI models/functions/integrations, unlimited integrations and guests, SAML SSO, dedicated account manager. |

What you need to start
- Accounts or credentials on whichever outside tools you want to connect live, such as a CRM, ad platform or data warehouse
- The free RowsX Chrome extension if you want to import tables straight from other websites
- A paid seat for daily or minute-level automated data refresh — Free only updates connected data manually
Your first run Sign up with Google or an email address, no card required on Free, and you land in a blank spreadsheet with an import wizard for a source like Google Sheets or a CSV, or a template to start from; the fastest route to a first real result is typing a plain-language question into a cell and watching the AI turn it into a formula against that data.
Where it breaks
Browser-based, built to replace a traditional spreadsheet rather than sit beside one — imports from and connects live to services like Google Sheets, CRMs and ad platforms.

When not to use it
Not for a team that has already outgrown the grid and needs relational views, linked records or an app layer over its data — Rows keeps the spreadsheet shape, it does not replace it. Also a poor fit if you need daily automated refresh on a budget, since that jumps you past Free's manual-only data tables straight to a paid seat.
Rows starts from a spreadsheet everyone already knows how to use, then adds two things a normal spreadsheet doesn’t have: live connections to your other tools (so a cell can pull a number from a CRM or an ad account instead of you pasting it in), and an AI analyst that can answer a question about your data in the formula bar, in plain language, instead of you writing the formula yourself.
That second part is the more interesting one. Instead of remembering VLOOKUP syntax, you write what you want in a cell — “average deal size by rep this quarter” — and it builds the formula, using the live-connected data already in the sheet.
What “AI Tasks” actually meter
The monthly AI Task count is the real ceiling on each tier — Free gives five, which is enough to try it and not much more; Plus jumps to 200, which covers regular light use; Pro’s 1,000 is built for a team leaning on it daily. Automation frequency (how often connected data refreshes) is the other lever: daily on Plus, down to the minute on Pro.
Where this sits
Against Airtable or Coda, Rows keeps the literal spreadsheet grid rather than reshaping data into a database view — the right choice if your team already thinks in spreadsheet terms and just wants it smarter, not restructured.

Grist
An open-source spreadsheet-database you can run on your own server, with an AI assistant that writes the formulas for you.
