Avoma
Records and transcribes sales calls and meetings, then scores how they went and pulls action items into your CRM.
What you'd use it for
Recording sales calls automatically and scoring them against a methodology so a manager can see why a deal stalled without sitting in on it.
- Auto-join and record calls across Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, WebEx, GoToMeeting and Highfive
- Turn a call into an AI summary with action items pushed straight into Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive, Copper or Zendesk Sell
- Search across your whole meeting library and get back the exact moment something was said, through Ask Avoma
- Score a call against a sales methodology and flag what a rep missed or should have asked, on the Conversation Intelligence add-on
- Translate meeting transcripts for teams that do not share a first language
The verdict
Avoma is a solid recorder and CRM-syncing notetaker on the base plan, but the thing that actually differentiates it, call scoring and coaching against a sales methodology, sits behind the Conversation Intelligence or Revenue Intelligence add-on at roughly $29 to $35 per seat on top of the base price. That can nearly double the real per-seat cost, so model the combined number before comparing it to a plain notetaker. It suits a sales or CS leader who wants to see why calls do or do not convert without joining every one; it is a poor fit if you only want accurate notes across a mixed set of departments.

What you need to start
- A work email on Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, since personal Gmail and student addresses are not accepted
- A Google Calendar or Outlook calendar account to sync
- A paid Zoom account only if you want Zoom's own cloud recording instead of the Avoma bot
No credit card for the 14-day trial; calendar sync, email connection and a 30 to 40 second voiceprint reading get you to a working account in about 10 to 15 minutes, with CRM connection handled separately by an admin.
Your first run Sync your calendar and read a 30 to 40 second sample script to build a voiceprint, then Avoma's bot joins your next scheduled call automatically and the transcript and AI summary are ready within minutes of it ending.
Where it breaks
Deeper analysis is sold as separate add-ons on top of any base plan: Conversation Intelligence and Revenue Intelligence are each $29/month per seat (annual) or $35/month (monthly), and Lead Router is $19/month per seat (annual) or $25/month (monthly). The base tiers are not empty of conversation intelligence -- Organization carries what Avoma itself labels a limited form -- but the coaching recommendations, automatic call scoring and methodology scorecards (SPICED, Sandler, MEDDICC) that the product is known for are in the add-on, so the base price is not the price of the thing being demonstrated to you.

When not to use it
A general meeting-notes rollout across a whole company, since departments outside sales and success end up paying for a coaching layer they will never use. Also not for a team unwilling to budget for the Conversation Intelligence or Revenue Intelligence add-on, as the base plan alone does not include the scoring and coaching Avoma is actually built around.
Avoma sits at the intersection of meeting notes and sales coaching: it records and transcribes the call, but it also scores how the call went against a methodology and surfaces what a rep should have asked. That second part is what separates it from a plain transcription tool — the AI is reading the conversation for sales signal, not just writing it down.
The base tiers (Startup, Organization) get you the recording-and-notes layer, which most teams start with. The real depth — call scoring, coaching dashboards, win/loss patterns — lives in the Conversation Intelligence and Revenue Intelligence add-ons, sold separately per seat on top of whatever base plan you’re on.
Read the add-on pricing before you commit
If the reason you’re evaluating Avoma is the coaching and intelligence layer rather than plain meeting notes, the number that matters is base plan plus add-on, not the base plan alone — and that combined number can roughly double the per-seat cost. Model it against your actual seat count before comparing to a simpler notetaker.
Where it fits
Against a pure meeting-notes tool, Avoma is aimed specifically at revenue teams — sales, customer success — rather than general meetings across a company. If you just need accurate notes and a summary for every meeting regardless of department, a lighter tool will cost less; Avoma earns its price when the call itself is the thing you’re trying to improve.
