Freshsales
A CRM from Freshworks where the built-in Freddy AI scores leads, summarises calls, and flags deals worth your attention, priced per seat for small sales teams.
What you'd use it for
Running a small team's sales pipeline with an AI layer that scores which leads are worth calling and flags deals that have gone quiet.
- Track deals through a Kanban pipeline with custom stages, fields, and contact lifecycle status
- Score contacts and leads on likelihood to convert, using CRM engagement activity and account signals (Pro and above)
- Get flagged when a deal has gone quiet before a rep would notice on their own
- Have Freddy draft or suggest sales emails
- Run automated multi-step outreach sequences to prospects (Pro and above)
The verdict
Freshsales is a solid, ordinary CRM at Growth for $9 a seat, but the AI scoring and sequencing that make it more than a plainer pipeline tool only switch on at Pro, four times the price. It suits a small sales team that already knows it wants that AI triage and is willing to budget for both the seat jump and the Freddy session add-on once the 500 free sessions run out. It is not the tool for a team that just wants cheap pipeline tracking, since the AI is the whole reason to prefer it over Growth-tier alternatives.
What it costs
| Tier | Price | For | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | $9/user/month, billed annually ($11/user/month billed monthly) | A small team that wants a real CRM instead of a spreadsheet. | Kanban pipeline view, contact lifecycle stages, built-in chat/email/phone, email templates, custom fields, and basic workflows. |
| Pro | $39/user/month, billed annually ($47/user/month billed monthly) | A team that wants the AI layer doing triage for them. | Everything in Growth, plus contact scoring, deal insights, custom sales activities, sales sequences, and territory management. |
| Enterprise | $59/user/month, billed annually ($71/user/month billed monthly) | Larger sales orgs that need forecasting and permission control. | Everything in Pro, plus forecasting insights, field-level permissions, custom modules, a sandbox, and audit logs. |

What you need to start
- A Freshworks account (email sign-up)
- The Pro plan ($39/user/month) or above for Freddy's contact scoring, deal insights, and sales sequences
Minutes to a working trial account; longer to import contacts and set up pipeline stages, and you need to be on Pro before Freddy's scoring or sequences do anything.
Your first run The free trial needs no card and gives you a working pipeline with your own imported contacts within minutes, but Freddy's contact scoring only gets useful once real email, call, and meeting activity has built up, so the first week is mostly spent generating that history rather than reading scores.
Where it breaks
All plans include 500 free Freddy AI agent sessions as a trial; beyond that, AI agent sessions are billed separately at $49 per 100 sessions and branded documents cost an extra $19/user/month. The sticker price on the tier is not the full cost once you lean on the AI features.
Browser and mobile apps (iOS, Android). Part of the wider Freshworks suite, so it shares login and billing with Freshdesk and Freshservice if you use those too.

When not to use it
Teams that came for the AI scoring but expect it at the $9 price: that feature lives on Pro, not Growth. Also not for anyone who wants AI usage bundled into the seat price with no separate metering, since Freddy sessions bill on top once the free 500 run out.
Freshsales is the CRM you land on when HubSpot feels like overkill and a spreadsheet has stopped working. It does the ordinary CRM job — pipeline, contacts, activity tracking — and Freddy, the AI layer, does the part that used to require a sales ops person: scoring which leads are actually worth calling and surfacing which deals are going quiet before you notice yourself.
The Growth tier at $9 a user is genuinely usable for a small team, not a stripped demo. Pro is where the AI scoring and sequencing show up, which is the actual reason to pick this over a plainer CRM. Enterprise is aimed at sales orgs big enough to need forecasting and field-level permissions, which is a different buyer than most readers of this directory.
Where the AI credits catch people out
The 500 free Freddy sessions sound generous until a small team burns through them in a busy month, at which point sessions cost $49 per 100. Budget for that add-on before you commit to a tier, or the per-seat price you compared against competitors won’t be the number you actually pay.
Against the alternatives
Against Attio, Freshsales is the more traditional CRM — pipeline-and-contacts first, AI as an add-on — where Attio builds itself from your inbox and calendar with less manual setup. Against Close, the two overlap closely for phone-heavy small teams; Close leans harder into calling and dialing as the core workflow, while Freshsales is broader and ties more naturally into the rest of the Freshworks suite if you already use Freshdesk for support.
