Jamie
A bot-free meeting notetaker built for privacy-sensitive calls, hosting data on German servers to meet GDPR requirements.
What you'd use it for
Getting a meeting recorded and summarised without a bot joining the call, for lawyers, healthcare providers and anyone else who can't have an AI notetaker on the participant list.
- Record meeting audio directly from your own device, with no bot joining as a visible participant
- Turn a finished call into notes, a full transcript and action items in under a minute
- Ask questions over past meeting notes with the built-in Ask Jamie chat and get an answer pulled from the right call
- Push notes automatically into Notion, Google Docs, Salesforce or HubSpot, depending on plan
- Transcribe and summarise meetings in over 100 languages
The verdict
Jamie earns its place on a narrow argument: no bot on the participant list, and meeting data that never leaves German servers, which matters more than raw feature depth to anyone in law, healthcare or another confidentiality-bound field. The free tier's 30-minute cap and 10 notes a month are enough to test it, but the plan people actually settle on is Pro, where the jump to a 5-hour meeting limit and unlimited notes makes it usable for a full day of calls. Outside that GDPR-and-no-bot use case, it's competing on price and integration breadth against USD-priced rivals, and doesn't obviously win that fight.

- The macOS or Windows desktop app, or the iOS app -- there is no browser-only version

Your first run Create an account with Google, Microsoft, Apple or email, install the Mac or Windows desktop app (or the iOS app), and connect your Google or Outlook calendar. The first summary -- notes, transcript and action items -- lands in the dashboard about 30 seconds after the call ends.
Where it breaks
Jamie prices in euros, not USD — the figures above are as published and have not been converted; check the current EUR/USD rate before comparing to dollar-priced notetakers.
Records via your device rather than sending a bot into the call — relevant for meetings where an unfamiliar bot joining is itself a problem. Prices are in euros; convert to your own currency before comparing to USD-priced competitors.

When not to use it
Not for someone outside the EU with no GDPR requirement, who will likely find a USD-priced competitor like Otter.ai or Fireflies simpler to buy and compare. Not for a team that needs the widest integration library -- Jamie's integrations are comparatively narrow, and the useful ones sit behind the Plus and Pro tiers.
Jamie’s whole positioning is built around a specific objection to the rest of this category: most AI notetakers join your call as a visible bot participant, which is exactly the thing a lawyer, a healthcare provider, or anyone in a confidentiality-sensitive meeting doesn’t want showing up on the participant list. Jamie records from your own device instead, and hosts the data on German servers specifically to meet GDPR requirements without needing separate legal review for European customers.
That combination — no bot, EU data residency — is a narrower pitch than “the best notetaker,” and a correct one for the audience it’s built for.
Reading the tier ladder
The jump that matters most is Plus to Pro: meeting-length limit goes from 2 hours to 5, and note volume goes from capped to unlimited, which is the point where this becomes usable for a full day of back-to-back calls rather than the occasional meeting. Team is priced per user for shared templates and workspace settings rather than adding new individual capability.
Where this fits
Against Otter.ai or Fireflies, the reason to pick Jamie specifically is privacy posture and EU hosting — if neither of those is a requirement for you, a USD-priced competitor may simply be the more convenient buy.
