Metricool
Schedules social posts and tracks analytics and competitors across platforms, with a strong following in Europe and Latin America.
What you'd use it for
Scheduling posts and tracking whether they worked, including what competitors are posting, across most major platforms from one dashboard.
- Schedule and publish posts across Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube and more from one calendar
- Track up to 5 competitors on the free plan and up to 100 on paid tiers, to see what they're posting and how it performs
- Pull analytics with 30 days of history on the free plan and unlimited history on paid tiers, plus PDF, PPT and Looker Studio reports
- Build a link-in-bio page (SmartLinks) with click tracking
- Use the built-in AI assistant to draft captions and content ideas, and connect other AI tools to your account data via Metricool MCP
The verdict
Metricool earns its keep through competitor tracking and analytics depth most scheduling tools skip, and the free tier is generous enough for a solo operator to run indefinitely without paying. It's an established default in Europe and Latin America, where it competes directly with Buffer and Hootsuite on price. The catch is the from pricing on Starter and Advanced — the advertised figure is a floor at the smallest brand count, and it climbs as you add accounts, so an agency should get a real quote before budgeting off the sticker price.
What it costs
| Tier | Price | For | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0/month | An individual or small brand starting out with one account. | 1 brand, management of all supported social networks except LinkedIn/X's full feature set, up to 20 scheduled posts/month, tracking of 5 competitors, 30 days of analytics history, an AI assistant, Metricool MCP. |

| Custom | Contact for quote | Enterprise clients with brand limits or white-label needs beyond Advanced. | Custom brand limits, a white-label option, a dedicated account manager, custom AI assistant credits, business integration services. |

What you need to start
- A free Metricool account, created with email, Google or Facebook -- no credit card needed
- Admin or owner permissions on each social account you want to connect (Facebook Pages only, not personal profiles)
- At least one connected social account before scheduling or analytics show anything
About five minutes to connect an account and schedule a first post; how much further setup takes depends on how many brands and platforms you're managing.
Your first run Connecting one social account and scheduling a post takes about five minutes; analytics for that account begin populating within minutes, though the first pull only covers the past 30 days of history.
Where it breaks
Browser-based; the "From" prices on Starter and Advanced increase as you add more managed brands, so the quoted figure is a floor, not a fixed price.
First entry in this reference. There is no previous check to compare it against.
When not to use it
Not for someone who wants the cheapest possible scheduler and doesn't care about competitor data or reporting depth — Publer undercuts it on price for that job. Also not for an agency budgeting off Starter's $20 floor while managing many brands, since the real cost climbs well past that as brands are added.
Metricool covers the two things a social manager actually needs day to day: scheduling posts across platforms, and the analytics to know whether any of it worked — including tracking what competitors are posting, which most scheduling tools leave out. It’s particularly established in Europe and Latin America, where it competes directly with Buffer and Hootsuite on price.
The free tier is a genuinely usable single-brand plan, not a crippled trial — 20 scheduled posts a month and 5 competitors tracked is enough for a solo operator with light posting volume to run indefinitely without paying.
Watch the “from” pricing
Starter and Advanced are priced “from” a floor that increases as you add managed brands — the $20 and $53 figures are what you pay for the smallest brand count on each tier, not a flat rate regardless of how many accounts you run. An agency managing fifteen client brands should get an actual quote for their real brand count before assuming Starter’s $20 floor is what they’ll pay.
Where it fits
Against Publer, which markets itself on undercutting Metricool and the larger incumbents on price, the trade is depth of analytics and competitor tracking (Metricool’s strength) against a lower headline price (Publer’s pitch, unverified here). If competitor tracking and detailed reporting matter to your work, Metricool’s feature depth likely justifies the gap.
