Moosend
Low-cost email marketing automation with AI-driven product recommendations, aimed at online stores watching every dollar of their marketing budget.
What you'd use it for
Running email campaigns and AI product-recommendation automation for an online store without paying Mailchimp-level subscription prices.
- Send unlimited email campaigns on the Pro plan, charged by contact list size rather than per send
- Trigger AI product-recommendation emails from real purchase and browsing history synced from a connected Shopify or WooCommerce store
- Run one live automation workflow, one landing page and one subscription form on the Pro tier, with more available as paid add-ons or on Enterprise
- Buy a one-off block of 350,000 to 1,000,000 send credits instead of a recurring subscription, for a store that mails in bursts
- Segment sends and A/B test subject lines across 80-plus native integrations
The verdict
Moosend earns its place on price, not sophistication — unlimited Pro-plan sends undercut Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign at comparable list sizes, and the pay-as-you-go credit packs are a real option for a store that only mails in bursts. The automation itself is capped at one published workflow, one landing page and one subscription form on Pro, which is enough for a single welcome or cart-recovery flow and not for several running at once. It suits a small ecommerce operator who wants AI product recommendations without agency pricing; it doesn't suit anyone planning multiple concurrent automations without paying for add-ons or Enterprise.
What it costs
| Tier | Price | For | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pay-as-you-go email credits | $350 for 350,000 credits, $500 for 500,000, $750 for 750,000, $1,000 for 1,000,000 | Occasional senders who don't want a recurring subscription. | Unlimited email campaigns and sends against the purchased credit balance, no monthly commitment. |
| Pro | Priced by contact list size via an on-page calculator, not a fixed figure | Stores and marketers sending regularly and wanting the full automation suite. | Unlimited email campaigns and sends, 1 published marketing automation workflow, 1 unpublished landing page, 1 unpublished subscription form, and an SMTP server, with add-ons for transactional email, dedicated IPs and custom reports. |
| Enterprise | Custom pricing | Larger senders needing an account manager and deliverability support. | All advanced features in one plan, an account manager, priority support, and deliverability and strategy optimisation. |

What you need to start
- An email list to import, or a Shopify or WooCommerce store connected for AI product recommendations to work at all
- A real contact count entered into the pricing calculator, since Pro's monthly price is set by list size, not by which features you turn on, and rises as the list grows
- A credit card and a chosen plan once you pass 1,000 contacts or the 30-day trial ends
Minutes to a working free account with no card required; the actual monthly price only appears once you type your live contact count into the pricing calculator.
Your first run The onboarding dashboard drops you straight into a New Campaign screen — name it, pick a sender and a mailing list, choose HTML or plain text, and a first campaign is ready to send inside the same session.
Where it breaks
Pro's monthly price scales with the size of your contact list through an on-page calculator that doesn't expose a fixed figure to a static fetch — only the pay-as-you-go credit pricing and Free trial are confirmed dollar amounts.
Acquired by Sitecore; still operates and is marketed as a standalone budget email platform rather than folded into Sitecore's enterprise suite.

When not to use it
Not for a store running several automation workflows or landing pages at once — Pro caps you at one published of each, with more behind paid add-ons or Enterprise. Not for anyone budgeting off the tier card rather than their own contact count, since subscriber count is the number that actually sets the monthly bill and it keeps climbing as the list grows, unlike the flat pay-as-you-go credit packs.
Moosend’s whole pitch is being the cheap, capable option in a category Mailchimp and its peers have priced upward for years. It offers unlimited email sends on its subscription plan rather than metering by send count, and layers in AI product recommendations aimed specifically at ecommerce stores trying to increase order value without hiring a marketer to do it manually.
There’s also a genuinely unusual option here: pay-as-you-go email credits, sold in blocks from $350 for 350,000 credits up to $1,000 for a million, with no subscription required at all. That’s a real fit for a business that sends in bursts — a seasonal retailer, an event promoter — rather than every week.
What we couldn’t pin down
The main Pro subscription tier is priced through an on-page calculator keyed to how many contacts you have, and that calculator doesn’t expose a fixed monthly figure to a static fetch — you’d need to enter a real list size to see a number. The credit-pack pricing above is confirmed and real; the subscription figure isn’t.
Where it fits
Against Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign, Moosend’s case is almost entirely price — a smaller company, a smaller integration ecosystem, but meaningfully cheaper at comparable list sizes, and the pay-as-you-go option nothing in that tier offers.
