Krisp
A desktop app that strips background noise and echo out of your voice before it reaches a call, and transcribes the conversation alongside it.
What you'd use it for
Making yourself sound clear on calls even when the room, the connection, or the other person's end is noisy.
- Removes background noise, echo, and cross-talk from your own microphone in real time, on any call app
- Cleans up other participants' noisy audio on your end as well as your own
- Transcribes and summarises meetings without a bot joining the call, since it works at the OS audio level
- Pushes meeting notes automatically into CRMs such as Salesforce and HubSpot
- Runs as a desktop app, browser extension, or mobile app across Zoom, Meet, Teams, and Slack
The verdict
Krisp is very good at exactly one thing — cleaning up audio before it reaches your call — and it works underneath whichever conferencing app you already use. The bot-free transcription is a genuine point of difference for anyone who doesn't want a visible note-taker joining every external call. It has no meeting-management layer of its own — no agenda, no live CRM logic beyond a basic push, nothing that replaces a dedicated meeting assistant if that is what you actually need. It suits anyone whose calls suffer from bad audio more than bad notes.

What you need to start
- A Mac on macOS 10.13 or later, or a 64-bit Windows 10/11 PC, with at least 4GB RAM
- A separate call app such as Zoom, Meet, or Teams — Krisp is not one itself
A few minutes to sign up, install, and select Krisp as your microphone and speaker in your call app; no credit card needed for the free plan.
Your first run Sign up, install the desktop app, and set Krisp Microphone and Krisp Speaker as the input and output in Zoom, Meet, or Teams — a few minutes end to end, and the noise cancellation is audible on your very next call.
Where it breaks
macOS and Windows desktop app, plus mobile. It sits between your microphone and whatever call app you use — Zoom, Meet, Teams — rather than being a call app itself.

When not to use it
Not for a team that wants one tool to run a meeting end to end — agenda, live notes, CRM workflow — since Krisp stops at clean audio and a transcript. Not worth the Advanced tier's accent conversion unless cross-language calls are a recurring problem rather than an occasional one.
Krisp does one thing and stays out of the way while doing it: it takes the audio from your microphone, removes the dog barking, the keyboard clatter, and the other people’s kitchen noise on their end, and hands clean audio to whatever call tool you’re already using. You do not switch apps to use it — it runs quietly underneath Zoom, Meet, or Teams.
The AI note-taking layer, added more recently, is bot-free by design: because Krisp already sits at the OS audio level, it can transcribe without a visible participant joining the call the way Fireflies or most meeting bots do. For teams uncomfortable with a bot appearing in every external call, that distinction matters more than it sounds.
What you’re actually paying for
Below Core, you get noise cancellation with real limits. The jump to Core buys unlimited AI notes; Advanced adds accent conversion, aimed at teams working across a lot of second-language English on calls. The Business tier is a separate product line for call centers — priced per agent and sold through a demo, not the self-serve checkout the personal tiers use.
What it does not do
Krisp cleans audio and takes notes; it does not run the meeting, generate an agenda, or push follow-ups into a CRM. For that layer, look at Fellow or Grain, which pick up where Krisp’s transcript leaves off.
Alternatives
Fellow
A shared meeting workspace that builds the agenda before a call, takes AI notes during it, and tracks whether the follow-up actions actually got done afterward.
Grain
Records sales calls automatically, pulls out the moments worth coaching or sharing, and syncs notes straight into HubSpot or Salesforce without manual copy-paste.
Granola
Takes meeting notes from your Mac's own audio without a bot joining the call, then merges them with whatever rough notes you typed yourself.
Otter.ai
Joins your video calls, transcribes them live, and emails a summary with action items once the meeting ends.
