What you'd use it for

Keeping a small sales team's deals visible and their CRM actually up to date, without anyone spending their evening writing up calls.

  • Drag deals through pipeline stages in a view built for a salesperson rather than a database administrator
  • Ask for a report in plain English, or pick a pre-written prompt, instead of building it from fields
  • Get a brief before a meeting and a transcript after it, with CRM updates prepared for you to approve rather than type
  • Draft, summarise and reply to email with AI from a shared team inbox, on the Premium plan and above
  • Score leads against a model you define, and enrich company records with industry, size and revenue

The verdict

Pipedrive is still the CRM a salesperson will actually open, and the AI has been put where that matters rather than where it demos well -- report writing and meeting notes, both on the cheapest plan at $14 a seat. The thing to watch is that the plan you will end up on is probably not the one you priced. Lead capture and routing, AI email tools and e-signatures are all on Premium at $49, three and a half times Lite, and the five add-ons underneath the table start at $13 to $41 a seat a month each on top of whatever plan you chose. It suits a team of a handful of reps who want their pipeline visible and their admin done for them; a business that mainly needs marketing automation with a contact list attached is buying the wrong half of this category.

What it costs

Tier Price For Includes
Lite US$14 per seat per month, billed annually (US$168 per seat per year) A team that wants the pipeline, the reports and the meeting notes and nothing else. Lead, calendar and pipeline management; AI-powered report creation from a plain-English prompt; meeting intelligence via Pipedrive Nova, giving a pre-meeting brief, a call transcript and ready-to-approve CRM updates; 500+ integrations.
Growth US$24 per seat per month, billed annually (US$288 per seat per year) A team ready to automate the follow-up rather than remember it. Everything in Lite, plus full Gmail or Outlook sync with open and click tracking, bulk email, automations and nurturing sequences, subscription and instalment billing with forecast reports, a meeting scheduler and the contacts timeline.
Premium US$49 per seat per month, billed annually (US$588 per seat per year) Pipedrive's most popular plan, and where the AI email tools and lead capture arrive. Everything in Growth, plus LeadBooster lead capture and automatic routing, custom lead-scoring models, company data enrichment, AI writing and summarising across multiple synced inboxes, contracts and e-signatures, and deeper customisation of fields, reports and permissions.
Ultimate US$69 per seat per month, billed annually (US$828 per seat per year) Teams needing security controls and a sandbox rather than more selling features. Everything in Premium, plus suspicious-activity alerts, password rules and IP- and time-based access restrictions, phone and email data enrichment, a sandbox account for testing workflows, extended phone support, and partner discounts on PandaDoc, CloudTalk and Surfe.

What you need to start

  • A work email to start the 14-day trial -- no credit card
  • Your existing contacts and deals in a spreadsheet or another CRM to import, or the pipeline starts empty
  • A connected Gmail or Outlook account before the email sync and tracking on Growth and above do anything

A working pipeline the same afternoon if your contacts are already in a spreadsheet or another CRM; Pipedrive includes implementation free on any plan over $400 a year, which is the point at which a migration stops being your problem.

Your first run Start a 14-day trial with no card, import contacts from a spreadsheet or another CRM, and you have a working pipeline the same afternoon; the meeting-intelligence part only starts producing anything once you have taken a call with it connected.

Where it breaks

Five add-ons sit underneath the plan table and none is included in any tier: LeadBooster from $32.50, Smart Docs from $32.50, Web Visitors from $41, Projects from $16 and Campaigns from $13.33, each per seat per month. Several of them do jobs a buyer may reasonably assume the CRM already does, so price the combination you actually need rather than the plan alone. Note also that pipedrive.com serves a hard Cloudflare block to automated reads of its pricing page -- the figures here were taken from the live page in a real browser.

Browser-based, with iOS and Android apps. Prices are quoted excluding VAT, which is billed to EU customers at their member state's rate unless a valid VAT number is supplied.

Previously unpublished: the pricing page refused every automated read, so the entry carried no confirmed figures and was held back as a draft. Read in a browser and now published -- which also caught that the tier names in the old draft (Essential, Advanced, Professional, Power, Enterprise) no longer exist. The lineup is four plans: Lite, Growth, Premium and Ultimate.

When not to use it

Not for a solo operator with a short list of clients -- a per-seat CRM with four tiers is more machinery than the job needs, and a spreadsheet plus a reminder will cost you nothing. Not for a team whose sales happen inside an existing suite, since the argument for Pipedrive is that it is a dedicated pipeline rather than one module among several, and that argument is worth nothing if your deals already live in the tool you use for everything else. And not for anyone whose budget is fixed at the headline number: the features most teams describe as the reason they bought are on Premium or in the add-ons, not on Lite.

Pipedrive built its reputation on being the CRM a salesperson actually wants to open — a visual pipeline of deals moving through stages, rather than a form-heavy database that happens to have a sales module bolted on. That design choice is still the product’s main argument against heavier competitors.

The AI is on the cheapest plan, which is unusual

Most CRMs in this reference put their AI behind the middle or upper tier. Pipedrive puts two genuinely useful pieces of it on Lite, at $14 a seat a month: report creation from a plain-English prompt, and meeting intelligence — a brief before the call, a transcript after it, and CRM updates drafted for you to approve rather than type.

That second one is worth pausing on, because it attacks the actual reason CRMs fail. A CRM is only as good as what gets entered into it, and what gets entered is whatever a rep can be bothered to write up at six in the evening. Turning the write-up into an approval step rather than a typing task is a better answer to that than any amount of pipeline design.

The plan you price is probably not the plan you buy

Lite is the number that will stick in your head. It is unlikely to be the one you end up paying.

Full email sync with open and click tracking, automations and nurturing sequences are on Growth at $24. Lead capture and routing, custom lead scoring, the AI email writing and summarising tools, and e-signatures are on Premium at $49 — Pipedrive’s own “most popular” label sits there, which is the vendor telling you where teams actually land. That is three and a half times the headline.

Then there are five add-ons underneath the table, none included in any plan: LeadBooster from $32.50 a seat a month, Smart Docs from $32.50, Web Visitors from $41, Projects from $16, Campaigns from $13.33. Several cover ground a buyer might reasonably assume a CRM already covers. A rep on Premium who also needs LeadBooster and Smart Docs is at $114 a seat a month, not $14.

None of that is hidden — it is all on the page — but the page is designed so the small number is the one you remember. Work out your combination before you compare Pipedrive to anything else.

Where it fits

Against monday.com’s CRM product, the difference is focus: Pipedrive is a sales pipeline first, with everything else built around that one view; monday’s CRM is one product among several on a shared board platform, which suits a team that wants sales, projects and operations in the same tool rather than a dedicated one.

Against HubSpot, the honest split is that HubSpot is a marketing platform that grew a CRM and Pipedrive is a sales tool that stayed one. If your problem is that deals go quiet and nobody notices, Pipedrive is the closer fit and the cheaper start. If your problem is that nobody is filling the top of the funnel, you are shopping in the wrong half of the category.
